FEMALE ARTISTS IN ROCK WORLD

Usually most of the rock bands in the world are run by male artists.Atleast it has been so till the present days.If you take a glance in the rock history you will find so.Most popular bands like the Beatles,Led Zeppelin,Pink Floid,Nirvana involved male artists.I think this is because of the interest of the female artists on pop music.But this concept is showing signs of changes slowly.Now the artists like Avril,Sheryl Crow,Michelle Branch and many more are making it possible.Avril is getting huge popularity day by day.Sheryll Crow has also established herself by songs like Soak Up the Sun,etc.Other popular female artists include Alianis Morissete,Courtney Love etc.Now the female artists are not limited in soft rock only.But you will see them perform hard and metal rocks also.Evanascence is , i think, a good example of this.So in the time to come i think more and more female artists will come out.

HARD ROCK ERA IN ROCK HISTORY

I have earlier spoken about the heavy meatal era in the history of rock.The heavy metal genre got unbound popuarity in the world.It ruled the rock world in the seventies and eigties.But after then it has give the stage away in the hands of some different kinds of rock bands.And this is the beginning of hard rock.Hard rock is different in that it lacked the rapid drum beatings.Also in hard rock the guitar effect becomes more intense and sharp.This rocl genre got maturity in the hands of two rock bands in the late eighties.They are Guns N Roses and Metallica.Guns n Roses gave some most influential rock albums like Appetite for Destruction and Use Your Illusion.The songs like November Rain and Sweet Child of Mine turned milstones in the rock world.Metallica gave numbers like One,Master Of Puppets,Turn The Page,The Unforgiven and many more.These were some smashing hits of the hard rock era.They continued their dominace over a whole decade.
