There are different genres of music which include pop ,rock, classical, blues and many more.But among these rock has got the most popularity among the youths. The rock is not to atract attention for the girls by their style or funny activities but they get maturity trough their activities.The history of rock lies in the blues music.It might have started in the 50s.The rock music started from the rock n roll genre in the hand of Elvis Prisely.After that it has come through a long way.The sixties and seventies were the construction period for rock.In the sixties,the Led Zeppelin ,Deep Purple and Black Sabbath were the main rock bands.Led Zeppelin and the Bittles are thought to be the greatest rock bands of all time.One can realise it if he hears the songs like Stairway To Heaven ,Who Lotta Love or Heart Breaker by
Led Zeppelin or Let It Be or Black Bird by The Bittles.Then rock music was prevailed by darkness by dark bands like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden.The hard metal was introduced by Deep purple through metal numbers like Highway Star or Smoke on the water .After these songs hard metal become quite popular.Later Metallica continued the trend started by Deep Purple.Pink Floyd influenced the rock world through
their deep philosophical lyrics.Time, Pigs, Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd were a big hits.In the ninties, the rise of Guns and Roses as a hard rock band was another important thing.Their Appetite for Destrucion reached the peak of popularity.November Rain or Sweet Child Of Mine are enough to describe G N R.Axle Rose and Slash were simply great.After GNR ,Nirvana came and influnced with a new kind of rock which became popular as alternative rock.After them Korn, Audio Slave, Green Day etc are taking lead in the rock music.As for the female artists, Avril Lavigne has started a new kind called punk rock.
