PANTERA- AN UNCONVENTIONAL HARD METAL BAND

Pantera was a different kind of hard metal band who is mostly known for gaining popularity over metal bands of the 80's.When people get bored by listening to the conventional hard bands of eighties ,then Pantera came as a relief for them. They also won the bet against the newly popular grunge meatal and other similar genres of rock.A good news for Pantera is that the band has been voted as the heaviest metal band ever in recent poll conducted worldwide.Pantera was formed in America in early eighties. They had Donnie Hart as the vocalist,Terry Glaze and Dimebag Darrell as guitarists, Tommy Bradford on bass and Paul Abbott as the drummer.Later Phil Anselmo joined Pantera as the lead vocalist. From then on a new era of heavy metal began.Pantera gave their first album Power Matel in 1988.It was a collection of some heaviest rock numbers of all time.It contained songs like Hard To Ride, Rock The World and I am The Nite and many moore.Power Matel was followed by Cowboys From Hell which gave the band a successful break. It was heavier than the previous one.It got huge popularity in both UK and US.The next album was Vulgar Display Of Power which is known as the identity of Pantera. It established the popularity of Pantera over other kinds of rock. The song Walk was a very hit number from this album.Another important album was Far Beyond Driven. These albums deeply infuenced the rock scenario of the ninties.THe band broke up in 2004 due to some internal conflicts between the band members which was followed by the death of Dimebag Darrell who was shot dead while performing. This was a great shock to the band.
